This audit calculated the CO2 created by each job by measuring the shoot days, the crew size, the kind of power used, any travel and even down to how many couriers. Q6: Will my jobs become "Carbon Managed" or "Carbon Neutral"?
A: No, you will not be able to claim your job is CO2 free, however you will be able to say that you have offset ‘X’ tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. Should you require absolute knowledge that your production was "Carbon Managed" or "Carbon Neutral" it is recommended by Rozelle Protocol that you audit your job on completion. Thus being able to calculate in absolute accuracy
Q7: Do I have to audit each production?
A: No. Application of the 0.8% CO2 levy to your production budget and its use to purchase carbon credits will offset the greenhouse gas emissions created by your production. The only time you will need to do an actual audit is when you want or need to claim that it was completely CO2 free.

A: Please contact Carbon Planet for a full, accurate and transparent CO2 emissions audit on completion of your production.
Q9: What do I do with the 0.8% CO2 levy?
A: You purchase carbon credits or carbon saving credits to the entire value of your CO2 Levy.

A: One carbon credit is equal to the removal or prevention of 1 tonne of greenhouse gas from the environment.

A: Yes

A: Yes, some companies will offer you a certificate e.g. Carbon Planet will supply a certificate with the names of the production company, advertising agency and the client, listing the amount of carbon credits purchased for that production.
Q22: What is the production CO2 levy?
A: The CO2 levy has been calculated by Carbon Planet by auditing four completed and varying productions. The recommended levy is 0.8% of the direct costs of a commercial production budget. If you are using the SPAA budget then the most simple way is to add 0.8% to the insurance line.

A: If the purchase of carbon credits is a legitimate business expense it is therefore tax deductible but it is recommended that you speak with your tax advisor.
